Description
Matheson House, 19909-64th Ave, built around 1910. This house is along the southern boundary of a quarter section originally pre-empted by Finlay Murchison in 1879, and bought by John Matheson in 1890.

Matheson House
Built by John Matheson for his wife and children in 1889-1894. Located at 19906 64th Avenue, the house was moved to Langley Meadows Community Park in 2002. Only moved a few steps away from its original location, the house was moved because the lot's owner wanted to develop the land. They house was missed in the initial Heritage Registry but was added in 2002.
Matheson, John
John Matheson was born on April 27, 1853 in Upper Kemptown, Nova Scotia. John worked as a blacksmith, logger and farmer in Langley. He purchased 160 acres in 1891 and for several years cleared the land before bringing his family out in 1894. It was reported that he was a carpenter on the First Belmont School at Murray's Corner in 1891. John had one daughter, Una Jeanetta Matheson and one son, George Stewart Matheson. John Matheson died on June 15, 1932.
