Annie Medd was born in 1891 in Sperling. She was educated in Fort Langley Grammar School and Langley High School.
Annie was an avid farmer and in her 70s, she returned to UBC to become a Master Beekeeper. She was awarded a Life Membership to the BC Honey Producers Association in 1970 (https://bchoneyproducers.ca/about-us/life-members-of-bchpa/).
In 1972, Annie presented $1,000 to the Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation which was an accumulated sum from prize monies from agricultural fairs awarded for needlework, cooking, butter, honey, flower and vegetable exhibits.
Annie was married three times. She was first married to George Miller in Washington State and was divorced in 1926. She returned to Sperling to live with her three minor children: Andrew, George and Harriet. She then married Albert Armstrong. Albert Armstrong died after suffering a brain injury from falling off a wagon. Annie later married 49 -year-old bachelor Ralph Medd in 1931/32 and moved to the old farmhouse on Medd Road in Milner. Annie passed away in 1974.
