Description

Good condition, except lid is quite dented. Stamped "Pure Aluminum Made in Canada" and has a decorative crest on the bottom piece. Item has four components (coffee pot (a), container for grounds (b), filter (c), lid (d)). Drip grind coffee pot. Hot water was poured in the top. Was used in Alf and Edna Trattle's Cafe, The Edal, in the 1930s.

Trattle, Alfred

Alfred George Trattle was born November 10, 1911 at Langley Fort, B.C. to Alfred William Trattle, Sr., who was killed in World War I, and Emma Elizabeth (Wright) Trattle, who was a community nurse and operated a maternity home from her house between 1919 and 1924. Alfred was christened February 1, 1912 at St. George's Church, Langley Fort. Alfred married his wife Edna (1910-1998) in 1940, and the couple owned the Edal Cafe located at 96 St. and Glover in Fort Langley. In September 2003, Alf Trattle passed away.
