1 Salad Plate : semi-porcelain ; 20.3 x 20.3 cm. This white salad plate is made by Alfred Meakin, and has the Harmony Rose pattern. There is gold detail around the outside rim of the plate. There is a pink and green rose pattern around the circumference of the plate, and a cluster of pink roses with green leaves in the centre of the plate. The bottom of the plate has a stamp in dark green reading "BY/ Alfred Meakin/ England" and a stamp in light green below that which reads "'HARMONY'/ ROSE." There is a circle of laurel leaves in gold with a crown inside and the words "ROYAL SEMI PORCELAIN." This gold crown stamp is partially covered by an old piece of yellowed masking tape with a pen inscription reading "For Harmony" in blue ink. There are also one small gold mark and a red mark on the bottom of the plate. Pieces in this series belonged to Dorothy (nee Wicken) and Russ Brown, or Dorothy's sister Edith Margaret Hawkins.
