The Alsager house and barns were located at 6953 232nd Street. The house was built by Erik and Belle Alsager in 1937-38. The couple had two sons, Lawrence and Bob, and Lawrence later lived here with wife Doris (nee Anderson), a school teacher. There were two barns on the property, one with a gambrel roof, which was older and built from the B.T. Barn Book of Plans by Erik Alsager, and the barrel vaulted round-roofed barn, which was built in the 1950s. The property sloped quite a bit on the south side where there was a steep bank down to the Salmon River. The property was purchased (ca. 2000?) by the Western Canada Genetics Centre.

James and Catherine Livingstone arrived in 1877 with their 11 children, most of whom were adults by this point. The family took up 5 quarter sections of land along what is now 232nd St. Other family members who owned land along this road were Francis (Frank) Joseph Livingstone, William Livingstone, Robert Livingstone, and John Livingstone. Mrs. Eustatia Livingstone, Frank's wife, was well known in the area as someone to go to for help, as she had served as a nurse in the Boer War. She ran their house (3425 232nd Street) as a sort of hospital before World War I, and perhaps even during WWI and after, as Langley had no hospital or maternity ward at this time.
