Description

Photo taken looking north. The Bethell Farm on the north side of White Road (approximately where 102B Avenue is today) in West Langley, during the 1948 flood. Joan Bethell is reading in the front yard. The house was on slightly higher land so was safe from the flood waters. Joan Bethell later married John Warden.

Bethell, Frank & Ada

Owned the Bethell Farm on White Road in West Langley (White Road ran between 200th and 208th Street, just north of the railway tracks - approximately where 102B Avenue is). Frank and Ada were married January 21, 1919 and they moved to the farm sometime after they were married. The couple had four children, three girls (including Kay and Joan) and one boy, Bob.
