Call for Entry - Green Art: Sharing Sustainable Approaches and Practices

Langley Centennial Museum invites applications for this upcoming juried exhibition, which will be held from February 19 to May 21, 2022. The exhibition will dive into the sustainable art movement, providing a platform for community members to share their artistic approaches to Green Art.

The creation of Green Art emphasizes two main ideas:

  • repurposing materials that would otherwise be discarded after their intended use-life; and
  • mindfully choosing materials and using equipment that is more environmentally friendly (e.g., plant-based paints/pigments, limiting use of power tools/energy consumption).

We want to engage community members of all ages to learn different ways of using and viewing ‘old’ or ‘used’ items from households, workplaces, and businesses.

This exhibition intends to inspire the public to repurpose items and materials in unique and meaningful ways, while limiting the consumption of items of convenience: newer is not always better.

To enter your work, please read and complete the application form. You can also stop by Langley Centennial Museum at 9135 King Street in Fort Langley to pick up a copy.

Mailed, emailed, or hard copy applications are due by 4:00 pm on January 29, 2022.
